Lose Weight Without the Hassle of Counting Calories: Here's How

Do you find yourself dreading to get on a weight loss journey because what scares you most is weighing your food to count calories? Even when we use apps like MyFitnessPal or HealthifyMe to input food consumed, it is often a possibility that you are not tracking your calories accurately.
It is not you who is self-sabotaging your fitness journey, but given the nature of Indian food, it is hard to correctly calculate the caloric value of your dish unless you track each ingredient individually (who has the time for it, right?). Also when you eat out, it becomes impossible to know how much butter or cream was added in that Butter Chicken Masala you had at your favourite restaurant.
So what is the solution, then?
Instead of counting calories, focus on the quality of the foods you are eating. Fill your diet with whole, unprocessed foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean protein. These types of foods will not only help you feel full and satisfied, but they are also packed with nutrients that are essential for overall health.
Use hand portions to balance your meals. Your hands always travel with you and are unique to suit your macro needs. If you are a bigger person, your macro requirements are higher and so are your hands. So you can see how that can scale, right?

Another important factor in weight loss is adding more movement throughout the day. Just by moving more than you usually do you will boost your metabolism to burn more fat. Start tracking your steps. Consider investing in a step tracker to track your daily steps and aim to reach 6000-10000 steps per day. Yes, even on Rest Days.
Add a structured workout routine. Add any form of strength training at least 3 times a week to aid you in weight loss. Weight training, Pilates and Yoga are forms of workout that you can add to your weekly plan. But remember that exercise alone cannot help you lose weight. It needs to be followed with a balanced diet and stress management.
Ultimately, the key to successful weight loss is finding a sustainable lifestyle that works for you. You might want to count calories for a certain amount of time to understand your macro requirements, but the most important thing is to focus on nourishing your body with healthy, whole foods and incorporating regular physical activity. By making these changes, you will see that weight loss then becomes a side effect of this new lifestyle.
So forget about restrictive calorie-counting and start making positive changes that will lead to lasting weight loss success.
